Os paradores foram criados em 1928 pelo rei Afonso XIII, para aproveitamento tur\u00edstico dos monumentos hist\u00f3ricos e art\u00edsticos da Espanha. Desde ent\u00e3o, a atual junta \u201cParadores de Turismo de Espa\u00f1a, S.A.\u201d administra 95 paradores adquiridos pelo governo espanhol e gerenciados por diferentes institui\u00e7\u00f5es, de privadas a parcerias entre Igreja e Estado ou at\u00e9 mesmo associa\u00e7\u00f5es.<\/p>

Os locais preservam seus acervos, m\u00f3veis e estilo, ao mesmo tempo que oferecem comodidades modernas como TV a cabo e calefa\u00e7\u00e3o. Confira alguns dos mais famosos paradores espanh\u00f3is:<\/p>

Um dos mais bonitos paradores da Espanha, o Parador de Santiago de Compostela tamb\u00e9m conhecido como Hostal dos Reis Cat\u00f3licos. Est\u00e1 localizado na Pra\u00e7a Obradoiro, perto da catedral. Foi constru\u00eddo como um hospital real em 1499 para acomodar os peregrinos que viajam para Santiago.<\/p>

O belo castelo renascentista, localizado a 8km da cidade de Vitoria-Gaistez era a antiga propriedade da fam\u00edlia Larrea e j\u00e1 abrigou Napole\u00e3o Bonaparte. Possui 53 quartos com TV a cabo, wi-fi, telefone, minibar e cofre.<\/p>

Situado no ponto mais alto de Hondarribia, era um castelo do s\u00e9culo X e j\u00e1 foi utilizado como quartel. Posteriormente, o imperador Carlos V construiu uma nova fachada e o transformou em pal\u00e1cio real.<\/p>

No s\u00e9culo XII, Santo Domingo construiu um hospital para ajudar os peregrinos que faziam o caminho de Santiago de Compostela. Nele teria dormido outro santo: S\u00e3o Francisco de Assis.
