a mais popular cachoeira do Santu\u00e1rio do Cara\u00e7a, porque fica a apenas 2 km do centro de visitantes. Tanto que a visita \u00e0 Cascatinha est\u00e1 inclusa no passeio de um dia da CVC, dispon\u00edvel para quem est\u00e1 hospedado em Ouro Preto ou Belo Horizonte. As quatro corredeiras e quatro piscinas naturais da Cascatinha s\u00e3o muito refrescantes, principalmente no auge do ver\u00e3o.<\/p><p>J\u00e1 a Cascatona exige um pouco mais de f\u00f4lego \u2013 e tempo. A trilha de 6 km \u00e9 toda pontuada pela beleza da Mata Atl\u00e2ntica. Na chegada, \u00e9 uma del\u00edcia dar um mergulho na sua \u00e1gua gelada e ainda admirar um visual incr\u00edvel do Vale do Sumidouro a partir do Orat\u00f3rio da Cascatona.<\/p><p>Para quem deseja se refrescar sem andar muito, o Banho do Imperador \u00e9 o lugar ideal. Como o pr\u00f3prio nome indica, o pr\u00f3prio Imperador Dom Pedro II tomou banho no local quando visitou o Santu\u00e1rio do Cara\u00e7a no s\u00e9culo 19. E os alunos do antigo col\u00e9gio costumavam se banhar toda semana no agrad\u00e1vel local, que \u00e9 rodeado de \u00e1rvores e fica a uma curta caminhada do Santu\u00e1rio do satisfeit\u00edssimo com o Cara\u00e7a.\u201d<\/p><p>A biblioteca citada pelo imperador ainda existe e hoje guarda 30 mil volumes, incluindo cerca de 15 mil obras raras. Outra joia do Santu\u00e1rio do Cara\u00e7a \u00e9 o \u00f3rg\u00e3o de 700 tubos da igreja neog\u00f3tica Nossa Senhora M\u00e3e dos Homens, de 1876. A igreja est\u00e1 ligada a duas alas laterais, de estilo barroco.<\/p><p>O santu\u00e1rio ainda mant\u00e9m ru\u00ednas do antigo semin\u00e1rio, erguido em 1774 e 1775 para originalmente sediar uma pousada de tropeiros da Estrada Real.
